Nikoloz Shavishvili
Born in 1954. In 1976, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Georgian Polytechnic Institute, majoring in Architecture, with the qualification of Architect.
In 1983, he was awarded the degree of Candidate of Sciences in Moscow at the Central Research and Experimental Design Institute of Urban Planning.
From 1985 to 1986, he was an intern at the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies at the University of Birmingham (UK).
From 1990 to 1991, he worked at the architectural firm “Richard Rogers Partnership” in London, UK.
From 1994 to 1996, he held various design positions in architectural companies in London, UK.
Since 1999, he has been a founding partner of “Kid Architecture.”
In parallel, he has been engaged in academic and teaching activities:
1990–1991: Visiting Professor at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, UK
2001–2006: Head of the Department of Architectural History and Theory, Faculty of Architecture, Georgian Technical University
2006–2009: Professor at the Department of Architectural History and Theory, Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Georgian Technical University
2009–2013: Head of Department, Program Director, Full Professor at the Department of Architectural History and Theory, Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design, Georgian Technical University
Since 2013: Dean of the International School of Design at the Georgian Technical University, Full Professor
He is the author and co-author of several monographs, numerous scientific articles, textbooks, and auxiliary teaching materials.
He was awarded the Order of Honor (2013).
